What is Faith?

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Faith is a conscious effort to live for God, and he takes care of all the rest. We choose to believe in Jesus, and we choose to live our lives for God. He wanted children who could choose their destiny, and who would love Him from their hearts and not from their minds.

Ritual religion satisfies our minds and justifies our weaknesses, but real faith leads us to repentance and the revelation of the love, peace and grace of  Jesus Christ.  Jesus came to show us what real living is like, how to live in the presence of God.

Righteousness flows from our willingness to give Him our lives, to allow Him to transform our hearts and minds,  to love Him with every ounce of our being. He is not looking for 'perfect' children; in our state that is impossible. He is looking for your willingness to depend on Him and not on yourself.

This is the ultimate truth about faith:  If you have faith, no proof is necessary, and if you do not have faith no proof will convince you otherwise. Faith is always a decision to live according to God's standards.
