Ephesians 2:8–9
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
The whole world is going crazy. There are people robbing stores and houses in the daylight, sometimes right across the street from the police station. People are protesting the rightfully elected President of the United States because they hate him so much. They can not tolerate the idea of Trump fixing the mess that the last presidential administration created for our country. These politicians made our country into a swampy mess, but we also enabled their behavior because of our own weaknesses.
This country was not founded by a group of pilgrims landing on Plymouth Rock by their own strength. There were Europeans coming to the new world way before that time, but they were never able to establish a real foothold in this land that lasted until the Lord established it for them. America has always been God’s idea, a place to be free of religious persecution. Their reason for coming was not about finding gold, or hunting for resources and products to sell back in the old world. They came to make their homes in the place that God had provided for them.
God needed a country and a place where people could live, thrive, and establish communities that were not afraid to call Jesus Christ their Master, Lord, and Savior. America has been a place of peace and hope, used by God as a beacon of light in a dark world. It was God's will and plan for His people to show everyone the light and love of Jesus Christ.
Even though America was God's idea, this was never a perfect country. There was war and conquest with the native indigenous people who were living here, and slavery was established here for the greedy plantation owners, but God’s authority in this new land was never thwarted by the ambitions of selfish people. He brought about justice and redemption for all the people that came to call America their home. Throughout the history of America, you see good and Godly people, but you also see godless people as well. That is the cost of living in a dark and broken world.
Right now, today, we must choose the type of country that we want to be, and it must be by an overwhelming majority of the people who live here, Do you want to live in the peace of a people who choose love over hate, or do you want to live in a land where everything is tolerated no matter how dark and destructive it is to our whole country? Do you stand with God, or with the devil?
We need to decide who we are in Jesus Christ
This is the time, and this is the place. The writing is on the wall - the liars, cheaters, and the criminals are being exposed every day, and that should be getting everyone’s attention. We need to listen to what the Holy Spirit is whispering into our hearts. It is time to stand up and be heard. God has never said in His word that life as a christian would be easy, and if you go to a church that promises sunshine and rainbows everyday, I suggest that you find another worship community that can teach you how to pray and to lean deeper into the Lord Jesus Christ. You will thrive in the world only by staying in the presence of the Lord, to be healed and maintained by His love...
