Fear Is Not An Option For A Believer In Jesus Christ

Psalm 23:4

Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Fear is not an option for a believer, because fear does not tell the whole truth about our situation. Yes, you may have a legitimate reason to fear what is going on in your life, but for a christian being afraid never leads to our victory or to a positive resolution. We need to focus our hearts and minds upon the Lord  and not upon the problem. All of our issues will be solved if we put our trust in Jesus Christ.

I know what it is like to have fear, or to be fearful about the future, so this message is for me as well as for you. Love the Lord with all of your heart and mind and wait patiently for that breakthrough to come into your life!

Fear prevents some people from accepting God's word. They are afraid of the changes it would bring into their lives. They are comfortable whrere they are in their lives until the trials and tribulations of life bring discomfort and suffering. They may not be ready to accept the truth, but the Lord will continue to show them the way to salvation because He loves them too much not to warn them about the consequences of their sinful nature.

Fear makes men and women do all sorts of things, and these actions always lead away from God, unless it is the reverential fear of God.  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. It compels you to seek His face and to know Him better through prayer and worshp. You will want to live righteously, because of the Word of God is planted within your heart. Your relationship with God will grow when you spend time alone with Him in His presence.

God is love, and when you are in His presence, there is no fear. You will receive guidance from the Lord, and when you exercise your faith and obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit, you will be able to focus upon His love for you and not upon your circumstances.

  • Fear makes you run away from the truth
  • Fear makes you angry, violent, fearful, and full of hate
  • Fear makes you deny the truth about God and about yourself
  • Fear makes you unable to change because you want other people's approval and not the approval of God
  • Fear stops you from doing what is right because you will not want to suffer the consequences of doing the right thing when everyone else wants to do the wrong thing
  • Fear makes you pretend that everything in your life is alright, even when you exist in a uncomfortable situation
  • Fear takes away confidence, conviction, and self esteem
  • Fear destroys your will to do better - you would rather not be seen or heard because the chances of being rejected or criticzed seems to be too great
  • Fear destroys the heart and leaves nothing but hopelessness

How can God help you with all of your fears and anxieties?  Lean upon the Rock of Salvation, Jesus Christ, surrender your fears, anxieties, wants and desires to Him. Are you suffering in a most uncomfortable situation? Give all of your pains and suffereing to Him, and let the Lord fight your battles.

How long will it take to see the victory in your life? I don't know, but I do know that God steps in when you ask Him to, so when you pray and ask for deliverance, expect an answer and a resolution to your problems. He will never leave you or forsake you. The answer is coming, so while you wait for it, Praise His Holy Name!  Your Victory is Coming!!
